alpha Kappa Delta Phi (aKDPhi) is the largest international Asian-interest sorority, with over 65 chapters across the United States and Canada. The Alpha Gamma Chapter at Stony Brook University was established in Winter 1999 and currently consists of 18 active sisters.

What is rush?​
Rush Week, also known as Recruitment Week, is an opportunity to learn about our organization's mission, values, and sisterhood while participating in engaging events. It is held during the first two weeks of the semester and is designed to foster connections, create memories, and introduce prospective members to alpha Kappa Delta Phi.

DO i have to be ASian to join?​
No. alpha Kappa Delta Phi is inclusive and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds. While we promote cultural awareness and celebrate Asian culture, we encourage diversity within our sisterhood.

What is a bid and how can i qualify for one?​
A bid is a formal invitation to join our sorority. To qualify for a bid, you must:
- Attend at least two rush events and one general interest meeting.
- Have a GPA of 2.6 or higher.
- Be a full-time student who has completed at least one semester.

Do i have to pay to rush?
No. All rush events hosted by alpha Kappa Delta Phi are completely free.

Rush is a period dedicated to building connections with the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi and gaining insight into the values and goals of our organization. As the only international Asian-interest sorority, we emphasize community, cultural awareness, and personal development. Rush events are designed to be enjoyable, non-obligatory, and free of charge, allowing you to explore our sisterhood without commitment.

Will being in a sorority affect my grades?
alpha Kappa Delta Phi prioritizes academic success as one of its core pillars. Members are encouraged to excel academically through time management, goal setting, and peer support. All sisters are required to meet a minimum GPA standard, and our community is dedicated to fostering academic growth and professional development.
How long is the intake process?
The new member process spans four weeks and is designed to help you integrate into the sisterhood and learn about our values and traditions.
